Outside of the Bancorpsouth Center

The Bancorpsouth Arena , formerly the Bancorpsouth Center and Tupelo Coliseum is located near downtown Tupelo, Mississippi and is a multi-purpose arena. The Bancorpsouth Arena seating chart can hold 10,000 fans, the building is 32,000 square feet .

The Bancorpsouth Arena is the permanent home of the Mississippi Mudcats an indoor-football team. The arena is also used for many other sporting events and since its opening has hosted basketball, wrestling and rodeos and everything in between. The Bancorpsouth Arena can also be reconfigured to accommodate concerts, shows and conventions. This versatility may be due to fact that in its first life the building was a shopping mall and was retrofitted to be a multi-purpose arena.

Although the venue serves a mid-sized population in Mississippi, it is a favorite among many artists and sports teams. The first act that opened the Bancorpsouth Center was Bill Cosby who was on a comedy tour. Other famous acts such as James Taylor, the Eagles, Van Halen, Tom Petty and Aeorosmith have all performed there. The Harlem Globetrotters have used the arena as a showcase more than once and in 1996 it was the brief home of the Memphis Pharaohs an arena football team.
