Michael Oher
Michael Jerome Oher is a well known football player across the nation after his life story was made into a book and film called The Blind Side. After a rough childhood and a lucky chance encounter with Leigh Anne Tuohy, Michael Oher managed to find his niche on the Briarcrest Christian School football team. Oher earned much recognition for his outstanding football skills, including the Division II Lineman of the Year award in 2003 and First Team Tennessee All-State, among many others. At Briarcrest, Michael Oher also managed to increase his GPA enough to be able to accept the full ride scholarship offered to him by the University of Mississippi. Now with the Ole Miss Rebels football team, Michael Oher quickly shined at offensive guard and earned first-team freshman All-American. In his second season with the Rebels, Oher moved to left tackle and continued to pull in awards across the board including the 2008 SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy. Michael Oher was chosen in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens as offensive tackle and has been going strong ever since. As a strong supporter of the Ole Miss Rebels football program, Michael Oher and the Tuohy family continue to attend games at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
